Yakima Valley. The account nobody would take.

In August 1953 Tomás reported something moving between the rows at night, twice in one week, to a sheriff's deputy who did not write it down.

He rode a bus ninety miles to the third Institute meeting because he had heard, from someone who had heard it from someone else, that there was a room in Hollowfield where they wrote things down.

Ada Merrick recorded his account in full and read it back to him to confirm she had it right. He asked her to do it a second time.

He was the Institute's first field correspondent and brought in more accounts over the next decade than any other member, most of them from people who had likewise been told to be quiet.
